Tim Tam Hedgehog Slice

Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 250 g Tim Tams, crushed Classic milk chocolate or dark Tim Tams
  • 200 g Plain sweet biscuits Marie style or any basic tea biscuit
  • 395 g Sweetened condensed milk Acts as a glue to make the slice set
  • 50 g Cocoa powder Adds deeper chocolate flavor
  • 100 g Desiccated coconut Optional for texture and extra chew
  • 125 g Butter Helps to melt everything together
Topping Ingredients
  • 100 g Chocolate Milk or dark, plus a little butter or coconut oil for shine

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Line your tin with baking paper, leaving a little overhang.
  2. Crush your plain biscuits into a mix of crumbs and small chunks.
  3. Roughly chop the Tim Tams.
  4. In a saucepan on low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the condensed milk and cocoa powder until smooth.
  5. Pour the chocolate mixture into the bowl of crushed biscuits and Tim Tams. Add coconut if using and stir until coated.
  6. Press the mix firmly into the lined tin using the back of a spoon.
Topping
  1. Melt your topping chocolate with a tiny bit of butter or coconut oil.
  2. Pour it over the base and gently tilt the tin to spread it out.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  4. Slice with a warm knife for neat pieces.

Notes

Store in the fridge for up to 7 days in an airtight container. Can be frozen with parchment paper between layers. Serve straight from the fridge in warm weather.
