Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce Opt for a high-quality brand.
  • 1/4 cup honey Can be substituted with maple syrup or agave nectar for a dairy-free version.
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
For the Skewers
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • skewers Use wooden or metal skewers.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger for the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  3. Place the skewers on the hot grill and grill for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally. They are done when golden-brown and juices run clear.
Serving
  1. Remove from the grill and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve alongside jasmine rice and cucumber salad.

Notes

Marinate chicken longer for bolder flavors. Store leftover skewers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat on a skillet over medium heat.
