Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 8 pieces chicken drumsticks Firm and good color recommended
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Ensure gluten-free if needed
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For the Fries
  • 2 lbs frozen French fries Can swap for gluten-free alternatives
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
For the Coleslaw
  • 3 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Substitute with vegan mayo for dairy-free
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken drumsticks with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Baking
  1. Arrange the seasoned drumsticks on a baking tray lined with parchment.
  2. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  3. During the last 10 minutes, mix BBQ sauce, honey, and Worcestershire sauce, then brush it over the chicken.
Cooking the Fries
  1. Prepare the French fries according to package instructions, ensuring they spread in a single layer for even cooking.
Making the Coleslaw
  1. In one bowl, combine green cabbage, purple cabbage, and shredded carrot.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper; pour over the cabbage mix and toss well.
Serving
  1. Transfer the sticky BBQ drumsticks to a serving platter with crispy fries and a bowl of coleslaw.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Use high-quality BBQ sauce for better taste. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
