  • 1 cup chocolate chips For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips.
  • 1 cup mini M&M's Can substitute with butterscotch chips or chocolates.
  • 1 cup frosting (for the eyeball) Using pre-made frosting can save time.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and light (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract until the mixture is thick and creamy.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this into the creamed mixture.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Roll dough into balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Slightly flatten each ball and press one mini M&M into the center.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers remain soft.
  2. Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack.
  3. Once cool, decorate with frosting to create a small pupil on the M&M.
Serving
  1. Serve these cookies on a festive platter. They pair well with milk or hot cocoa.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months. Thaw or warm in the microwave to enjoy.
