Main Ingredients
  • 3 to 4 pounds Chuck roast The main cut of meat that becomes tender in the slow cooker.
  • 1 packet Ranch seasoning mix Provides flavor to the roast.
  • 1 packet Au jus gravy mix Adds rich flavor and helps create gravy.
  • 6 to 10 peppers Pepperoncini peppers Add a tangy flavor; use a little juice as well.
  • 4 to 8 tablespoons Butter Adds richness to the dish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add the roast to the slow cooker and place it whole without cutting it.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix followed by the au jus gravy mix on top of the roast without adding water.
  3. Place the butter on top of the roast and scatter the pepperoncini around it, adding 2 to 4 tablespoons of pepperoncini juice for extra flavor.
  4. Cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4 to 5 hours, though LOW is preferred for better texture.
  5. Once done, shred the roast in the slow cooker and stir it into the juices for flavor.

Notes

Let the roast rest for 5 to 10 minutes with the lid off before serving. If serving guests, keep it on WARM in the slow cooker.
