Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pack Hawaiian rolls (12 count)
  • 6 slices cheese slices (cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, or a mix) Use a mix for extra flavor
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Optional but highly recommended
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 sprinkle dried parsley Optional for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Keep the rolls connected. Use a bread knife to slice the whole slab in half horizontally, like you’re making one big sandwich.
  3. Layer in the cheese across the bottom slab, adding a second layer if you want them extra melty. Put the top slab of rolls back on.
  4. Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and a pinch of salt. Brush it all over the tops of the rolls.
  5. Bake uncovered for about 12 to 15 minutes. For extra golden tops, add an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Let them cool for a couple of minutes, then slice along the roll lines and serve.

Notes

For optimal melting, cover the pan loosely with foil for 3 to 4 minutes if the cheese isn't melting quickly enough. Let cool before cutting for cleaner slices.
