Ingredients

For the Beef Skewers
  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, cut into cubes Choose marbled cuts for flavor and tenderness.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Can substitute with tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt Use for marinade.
For the Fries
  • 4 large potatoes, cut into fries Opt for firm potatoes to avoid mushiness.
  • Vegetable oil for frying Ensure oil is hot for crispy fries.
  • 1 tsp salt For seasoning after frying.
For Serving
  • 4 leaves lettuce For plating.
  • 1 large tomato, sliced For garnish.
  • 1/2 large red onion, thinly sliced For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Add beef cubes and toss to coat. Marinate for at least one hour.
  2. Thread marinated beef onto skewers, leaving space between pieces for even cooking.
  3. Soak skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
Cooking
  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until charred and juicy.
  2. Meanwhile, heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan. Fry cut potatoes until golden and crispy, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
Serving
  1. On a large platter, lay out lettuce leaves, place grilled beef skewers on top, and tuck in crispy fries. Garnish with tomato slices and red onion.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating fresh herbs in the marinade or using different sauces for dipping. This dish pairs well with fresh salads or coleslaw.
