  • 1-1.5 pounds Barramundi fillets, skin on
  • to coat tablespoons Olive oil Enough to coat the fish lightly
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic, minced or substitute with 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 Lemon, zest and juice
  • optional teaspoons Smoked paprika For a gentle smoky vibe
  • for serving Fresh herbs (parsley, dill, or cilantro)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. If your fish is frozen, thaw it in the fridge overnight and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. Run your fingers gently over the fillet to check for and remove any pin bones.
  3. Brush the barramundi with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic, and smoked paprika right before grilling.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium or medium-high heat.
  5. Place the fillets on the grill and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes per side until the fish flakes easily.
Serving
  1. Serve with a squeeze of lemon, a drizzle of olive oil, and fresh herbs.
  2. Pair with rice and a cucumber salad, roasted potatoes and vegetables, or in tacos with lime.

Notes

For best results, keep the seasoning simple and ensure the grill is clean and hot before cooking. If using frozen fillets, thaw and dry thoroughly to improve texture. Also consider variations such as adding lemon herbs, spices, or serving with Mediterranean toppings.
