  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs or ground oats.
Flavorings
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped Sauté the onion for better flavor.

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
Cooking Oil

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until they are soft and translucent.
  2. Remove the onions from heat and let them cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and pork mix with the breadcrumbs, egg, Dijon mustard, parsley, salt, black pepper, and paprika, if using.
  4. Add the sautéed onions to the meat mixture and mix well without overmixing.
  5. Shape the mixture into equal-sized patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom over medium heat.
  2. Once hot, place the patties in the skillet, taking care not to overcrowd them.
  3. Fry for about 5-7 minutes per side until they are golden brown and fully cooked through.
  4. Remove the patties from the pan and drain them on paper towels.
