Ingredients
  

For the BBQ Chicken
  • 6 pieces chicken drumsticks Opt for fresh, organic, free-range options.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Can substitute with avocado oil.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 cup BBQ sauce Homemade sauce can enhance flavor.
  • 1 tbsp honey
For the Crispy Fries
  • 1 lb frozen French fries Should be crispy and well-salted.
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley For garnish.
For the Garden Salad
  • 2 cups mixed lettuce Avoid using wilted greens for best presentation.
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 0.5 piece cucumber, sliced
  • 0.25 piece red onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
For the Dressings and Dips
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise Can substitute with a vegan dressing.
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup ketchup

Method
 

Preparing the Chicken
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, toss the chicken drumsticks with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Place the seasoned drumsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 35–40 minutes. In the last 10 minutes, brush the chicken with a mixture of BBQ sauce and honey.
Cooking the Fries
  1. While the chicken is baking, prepare the French fries according to package instructions. Sprinkle salt and chopped parsley over the fries once done.
Making the Salad
  1. In a large bowl, combine the mixed lettuce, cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, and red onion. Drizzle with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
  2. For the creamy dip, mix mayonnaise with garlic powder and a dash of lemon juice.
Serving the Dish
  1. On a serving plate, arrange the drumsticks, crispy fries, fresh salad, and small bowls of the creamy dip and ketchup. Garnish with extra parsley.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
